So yesterday we decided to take a day trip to Karlstad, Sweden. Karlstad is the largest city in province Varmland in Sweden. This city was actually built on the river delta, Klaralven (Sweden’s longest river) that runs into a lake called Vanern. This city was beautiful and had many different stores to shop and patio restaurants to eat at lined up for your choice. We had dinner at Pitchers (related to Golf – the sport) and enjoyed ourselves some “Chi Chi burgers and fries” with some friends. This burger, named after a drunk golfer, was made with cream cheese and jalapeños – don’t knock it till you have tried it! Can you tell I am a foodie?! I literally work out to eat bad! Anyways after enjoying our food on the patio bar at Pitchers we headed to the hockey game. Karlstad (Farjestad) versus Orebro (two new rivals)! Of all my years of watching hockey (never playing) I have never seen such dedicated wild fans! I loved the back and forth cheers but for people in the states (with the exception of some cities in Canada) – this experience was one I have never experienced before and it was unreal! It was a fun night and I cant wait to visit this city again to do some more exploring.
