Stockholm, Sweden

Decided to take a two-day trip to Stockholm, Sweden (since we are so close) and could not have had a better time.  Stockholm is known as the Venice of the North.  This city is located on the Scandinavian Peninsula and has many different trendy locations within.  Filled with different cultures, this city managed to keep their historical buildings and incorporated them with a modern twist.  The architecture is beyond beautiful (pictures don’t even do it justice) and the water is clean enough to swim in.

First stop was just outside of the city to a place called The Taby Centrum.  The Taby Centrum, located in Taby, is a newly improved mall that happened to carry the first Sephora in Sweden.  Did I have to visit this? Duh!  After Taby, we decided to head over to our hotel in the city called the Hotel Hellsten.  This hotel had character and we loved it! We had a junior suite which is definitely the way to go.  After getting situated, sushi sounded good.  It just so happened there is a NikoNiko in dowtown Stockholm – SO good!

Cake Treats

Although Stockholm is HUGE, I suggest walking the streets to go anywhere in the city.  It is nice to take it all in as if you were a local.  You will be amazed how many trendy areas you stumble across.

American Bar in the City
Coffee Break
Shopping – they have Brandy Glanville
S
Unique Stairs
Stumbled across the Opera!
City Strolls
Beautiful Church – A wedding was taking place
Canals
Canals with waterways clean enough to swim in
CHEERS!
List of shots on the roof (Look Up!!)
For dinner…. Garlic&Shots is highly recommended but you must be a garlic lover and be sure to get there early.  This little rocker bar has the best shots and ribs in town and it tends to get extremely busy.  Shots 1-6 on their list are a tradition.  We picked #1 – the bloody garlic! I could have this shot on the rocks! It was a combination of garlic, vodka, chili, and bloody mix.  WARNING -you will experience a food coma but it is worth every bite! I will definitely be giving this place another visit!
